I have a customer that came in yesterday for a sign. He slaps down 12 Brouchures and a hand drawn pic of what he wants for a layout. He wants 12 differnt logos on the same sign. How much extra should I charge him for all the logos???? I have no idea. I am so lost when It come to things like this. I have a price book but there is no category for 12 logos. Thanks for your help in advance.

Ian,

I'm going to assume that $3800 for a 4x8 would shock your customer? (hypothetical reproduction of 12 logo's & assemby of unknown type of sign in traditional means which is just a lot of gibberish of me not knowing enough about your job) So if you don't have the ability in house, have you thought about digital scanning and printing? This sounds like a scan and print for the edge or colorcamm. Maybe even inkjet if indoors/outdoor. Fill us in on some more info and maybe I/us can steer you in the right direction. Sounds complicated now but can be really simple to do.

If the logos are all one color each and not too complex, I'd figure at least an hour of computer time per logo (figure at your shop rate). Also, I would not provide a complete layout with all the logos (too time consuming) until a deposit of 50% was had. If he doesn't accept your price, let it go. It's not worth lowering your price on such a time consuming project.
