Third one's a charm. I don't know if your client will pick that one, but it grabs my eye. It has the look of a co-axial cable it's a great touch.

I like #1 as well. I also agree with Amy about the font for "electric", I had to look at it pretty close to read it. As far as which one do I think the client chose, it's probably the one you disliked the most, that's the way it almost always happens here......

I like Number 1 but would lose the font for "electric" like others said. To hard to make out from a distance, and I don't feel it fits the application. I do like the outlets in the "B" though

Hi, I think that #4 is the most readable but I have one suggestion, I'd lose the outlets in the B and keep the one in the O. it seems a little much. Mike

Well, here goes....I would choose 1.. The brush font that is unpopular with many, is fine for me and the easiest copy in any of the four to read from a distance. I tend to stay away from "fat copy" in my own designs, feeling that it has been much overworked in signage. Rob's comment on the negative spaces is good for me too. This typically makes copy stand out better. Just my opinion. bronzeo

I would love to see the Bahamas (ver. 4) with the word Elecric written in a drop cord font. I have a great example for this, email me if you wish to see it. You would have to do it the old way, eye-hand gig. You know the drill. But it would be the perfect way to solve your space issue and the weights of your letters would not fight each other. The visual impact would be recognized easliy and you could prolly get a perty coin for your efforts, selling them the "logo."
...let me know if you're interested <grin>
I agree with Mike on the double outlet comment. if you use the drop cord font, it comes with one plug, hehehe...I'm sure you can steer it around...my thought was to have the cord piled slightly after the c, then have the plug heading for the outlet on the big O.
I did find the 4th example easier to read at a glance, but not enough negative space.

Wow - thanks for all of the responses! Sorry it took so long to get back. Thanks for all of the critiques and comments. It all helps in the end.
This was just something quick that I threw together for a old high school chum. He had the globe-n-plug artwork in the first logo on his card.
As for the slash typestyle I chose for ELECTRIC - I was just so bummed out with all of the fonts out there [click, nope, click, nope, click, nope....] that I just picked one that I thought was fun. Remember, this was for a buddy so I couldn't spend all day looking - or creating - a better looking type. I had thought about spelling the word out with an extention cord, but again, no time (Linda - I'll contact you). And in my defense Melbourne is a relatively small town, and his exposure will happen. I will use very bright colors, and it should have a nice imapct - well maybe marginal. I'll post pics when it's done.
I agree with Mike and Linda about losing the outlets in the B if it's used with the O. The client wanted to see how it looked with that way.
The negative space thing - well I really just forgot to check. Next time.
The van should be here today. I'll try to get some pics up later.

Pat, the dble outlet in the B woulda been really kewl had you been able to find a way to make the plugs proportionate in size. Like changing the perspective on the B word, so that the end of it looked far away....the B up close.
If this is how well you do for just a buddy, I'd love to see the stuff you do for your favorite customers!
