That looks Great! Can you tell me what steps you took in painting it? I'm curious, lotsa yellow there...did ya have to put anything under it for it to oomph, or did the clear do that for ya?
Thank you for posting this! Not enough painted stuff goin around, in my humble opinion hehehe!
I used to paint the foot ball banners for my high schools, and I would cringe when they ripped through them...hahaha! I think you did a woinderful job!

Linda, I cleaned the surface, scuffed it with a scotchbrite and cleaned again with prep-sol. Layed out the design with a stabillo and hand painted everything using House of Kolor pinstriping paint. This paint is opaque just like 1Shot and brushes much the same. The HOK paint is very vibrant and with the addition of the pearls for much of the highlighting this gives a more 3-D look and special effect. I only purchase the primary colors along with black and silver to mix almost any color I need. The only mask I used was the lettering where I hand painted and then added the airbrush fade. Following the completion everything was cleared using urathane clear. This works for me.
Funny story about this truck....a few months after I completed the artwork it was involved in an accident. All of the sheet metal was replaced except for the mural. They drilled out the rivets of that panel since it was the only straight piece of metal on the whole truck and pieced it into the new body panels. Freaked me out when I receive the phone call. Only had to redo the lettering at the top.

Great job Jim! Being familair with the back ends of trucks I can really appreciate the degree of difficulty in working in this area. I'm sure from the knees down on the players was a bitch. Did you rig a plank and sit on it or was there a ton of back braking bending and leaning involved?

Thanks everyone for the kind words.....just love to do what I'm doing and able to make a living!!!!
George, I have painted a lot of trucks for this fleet and they always put a nice toolbox with polished aluminum all over so it sets up a nice wirk area. Rob, HOK pinstriping paints a very smooth, opaque and dry in a fraction of what 1Shot does. You must use their reducer and they even have a gloss additive if you are striping and do not desire clearcoat. Paint comes in 4oz cans and even in quarts for us guys that are using it for airbrushing. I use pinstriping paint and their pearls to do almost all of my artwork because both dry as fast if not faster than the old laquers. I spray and go as fast as I can, I haaaaate to have to wait for paint to dry before moving on, it's like watching grass grow!!!
Thanks everyone!!!
