This sign blank was made by my Dad. It is two inch thick Mahogany. It was hand carved and gold leafed. The wolf was painted with oneshot and is recessed 1/2" into the blank. This was a fun one.
I had trouble uploading these pics to the BB. These have been posted with the help of Bob Rochon's website. THANKS for the help Bob! I'll get it figured out soon.

You sure did a terrific job on that wolf Rob. I've always found that protruding animal snouts like that to be tricky to depict perspective wise. You pulled it off very well! Great job on the fur too.

In Charlton Ma there is a company called HK Hardwood. They sell hundreds of exotic woods. All in rough cut form. The mahogany comes 1 and 2 inches thick. That sign came out of a piece 2" thick, 12.5" wide and 8' long. Cost of the rough cut board was $85. My Dad is a fine woodworker and makes alot of my blanks for me. I need to take the time and learn a little of his trade. Someday he won't be around to do it for me.
