A few weeks ago I asked for ideas regarding a display that I have placed in our local Chamber of Commerce. Thanks for the replies.
Here is what we came up with. My husband decided on the shop look. It cost us $30 to make the table with the peg board and we figure we can use it when we finish using it there.
The picts aren't great but here goes. The Ambo Design lettering is HDU cut out with a DeWalt cutout tool, carved & rounded edges and painted with Krylon. My first fade so be nice!! It is attached to two different 1/4" layers of HDU.
Have Fun!

Amy, Nice work. Especially the logo.... Is the rounded face sanded to shape or routed or both? Either way, a very nice appearance. Jack

Will you let us know how it works out for you. You said in your post you've placed it in the Chamber of Commerce. Is it in there for people to see whenever they visit the office? I thought you were just setting it up for a meeting that members were attending.
Either way, I'm sure it'll get you lots of new business.
Good luck!

Terry, the display is in the Welcome Center of the Chamber. It will be there through the 15th. I hope I pick up some work from it so I can justify what I paid for the membership!
I am hoping for heavier traffic than usual because it is Speedweeks now in Daytona and we are only 20 min. SW of Daytona. The ladies working there say they usually have a lot more visitors during that time.
I also went back since I took the pictures and added a little sign that states we can ship most anywhere with hopes that visitors to the area would be more interested!
I'll keep you posted.

Hi Amy Thats a great selection youve got there -nice work
My only suggestion is that you paint the pegboard matt black or dark green ,they always look unfinished -in black it wont look so much like a lot of holes ,it'll display your samples better. Or drape some black cloth over it and behind your samples much like in a shop window
Good luck Terry

Great job! You and your husband make a wonderful team! I love what you did with your logo! The sign shop feel is ingenious. You'll definitely be spoken highly of by the chamber members!

Great job Amy for sure. I'd hate to think that wouldnt attract some business. The cut-out HDU looks really good.

Looks great Amy. I would paint the pegboard though, maybe a dark green. You may be pleasantly surprised on down the road from now. Alot of people may not need a sign at the moment but will make a note of who to call in the future from seeing your great display. Met you at Duck Soup.

Thanks Roy and everyone else. We didn't paint the pegboard on purpose because we wanted a rugged shop look, not a pretty look. I hope you're right on the calls coming later!!

Great work & display Amy! Be patient. Tell the Chamber that you will donate a sign, in trade for equal $$ amount of membership. After all it's the Chamber of Commerce not the Chamber of Freebies.

Don't go thinkin you did sompn wrong here. It's my belief that you bedazzled your customers! I'll bet every one of the people that took your cards are running their mouth about how creative your set up was and still absorbing eveything they saw. (Basically just waiting on their tax returns to get back! LOL)
At some point, some guy is gonna get up the nerve to call you and be oh so happy that he did! The quality of your work will sell itself, and before long, you'll be asking for tips to turn business away!
Remember us little people!
I agree with the above suggestions, milk this. Get the Chamber of Commerce to promote you big time. Trade the small sign for more promotion for you!

For a first time doing a fade I can t see anything wrong it looks great. The whole display is very nice because it is simple and different from what is normally seen for trade shows (those very expensive tradeshow booths). The only improvement I could see would being a framing around the pegboard being a little more fancy then 2x2s. But the framing certainly would now stop a person from buying. I love the hand painting in the countertop very nice touch

I find what many of you guys do fascinating and enjoy the bullboard for the learning experience it presents. I know a few things about the business and about the equipment and materials that we sell for making signs...But I wouldn't have a clue of what to do if somebody handed me a brush or a chisel and said "Here - you try".
If you don't mind - please tell me about your AmboDesign logo and how you made it. I assume it is carved - but out of what? How long did it take? How much would you charge a customer for something like that.
Thanks!

I've been abit sidetracked lately, so I'm coming in on this post pretty late. Still I gotta give you praise for a job well done. Especially the gradient fade on that logo ... super job!
You look like a natural to me girl. Keep it up ... you are gonna soar!
