Here is the first race car I have done in 2002. These type of cars are known as East Coast Pavement Modifieds. The Driver is Jamie Tomaino Jr.
The flames were done by Owen & McIntosh in Freehold, NJ, they painted the car and chassis. I just added the lettering and some stripes, trying not to take away from the flames.

Great job on the #1. We do a #1 car here and I find myself looking two or three times at the no# to get the angle right on both sides of the car.

Nice job Mike, good to see sponsors stay involved in the sport. I can remember seeing Perth Amboy Spring Works on cars at Wall and Old Bridge back in the fifties

yeah....Nice Job! I remember handlettering a race car for Mary Pang foods for years. I loved doing that. Unfortunately the owner is in jail now for life.

Luke, I plan on being in New Smyrna, and it's a very deep metallic blue, more like Jeff Gordons car.
Robert, I always slant the numbers 30 degrees, seems to work best, except for some #4's and 7's.
George, Joe Venezian at Perth Amboy Spring Works has stayed involved in the sport since taking over the business from his father. He has sponsored Jamie Tomaino since 92 and now is helping his son, Jamie Jr. some.
Harris, how ya been? The 99 is Jamie Tomaino Sr.'s NASCAR Modified. He runs on Asphalt all over the east coast.

Nice job on the car. It takes me back to the days when I used to letter a bunch of modifieds around our area.
I used to do Tony "The Rocket" Jankowiak's NASCAR Modified before his untimely death in the early 90's. I used to love the comraderie that just ran rampant in the garages... Kind of miss those days...
Thanks for jarring some of the old memory cells loose! Keep up the great work.
Have a great one!

Wow, Tony "J". I knew him well. You just reminded me, and I hate bringing this memory up since I was present that day, but I lettered the car he lost his life in at Stafford, CT, the Bill Potts 99. I do remember his black 73's, always sharp looking cars.
He is still missed.
