I was just wondering what the guidelines are for posts on the portfolio page... seems to me that opinions are sometimes requested, sometimes not, but most of the time recieved. I enjoy critqueing, but wouldn't post my input unless asked for. Just hoping to get a clear idea of what this section is for. Thanks!

I use this forum for showing different type art- or for stuff that I like. I think that as a purely illustrators forum, we like to hear from people who are doing the same kinda work. I get comments from non-artists all the time, after a while, that gets a little shallow. I would rather hear from different views from people who are not as impressed.
Being a self taught kinda guy- I like the critiques from the more educated crowd. Just don't let your ego hang by a thread.
Since I'm here- heres a new one- 4X8, airbrushed and vinyl.

"Now is that cool or no ?????" Question is how did you get one pole NOT to cast a shadow ????? he he he Just Kidding... To answer the original post.......Most people who want comments..ask for them......However some people respond without being asked..I guess that is OK also........... Shep'

Oh man, my first quick glance at that sign made me spew Sprite through my nose and all over the monitor! Good thing for that last "E"..
Anyways I think this Portfolio Page is just for showing our latest projects that we think are cool and worthy of sharing.. Critiques and comments are just a side effect of posting in a public forum but I think are still welcome.. Perhaps critiques might be more appreciated than a bunch of lip-locking, if ya know what I mean.

I could saunter down to the coffee house and ask a bunch of everyday folk what they think about sompn, but they get excited about anything i do.
I like the idea of knowing I could get feed back here from folks in the business, no matter what the skill level. The more perspectives, the more bases covered.
I think it's funny when somebody posts a pic of a sign already completed and folks start asking if they could move this up and make that another color...if the check's in the bank, why? I can understand for future reference and all, just makes me snicker. I get vizuals of us running after some poor client who's paid up and thinks it over, and we drag their truck back in and start over? LOL. OK, I've said my opinion. I'm movin on.
I like the Big Butt sign too! And I am impressed with your ability to steer shadows...that's some real skill hehehe!
