Thanks for all the positive comments. The whole sign is done with automotive basecoats and then 2 pak cleared. All done with masks and small bit of freehand airbrushing. With the checkered design already on the boat knocking out some of the checkers was the only way I could see how any design would work. I am doing the deck as well and will post a pic when it is done.

Neil, that looks a lot better. Lots of depth to it now. Were you working right over gelcoat? or was the boat painted before? did you have to clear the whole hull, or just the parts you painted?

The owner of the boat owns a panel shop so he did all the clear on it. He painted all the checkers on it originally (took him 13 hours just to mask it) I was working over the 2 pak he sprayed on originally. Hopefully I will get more of this sort of work.
