here is one i am working on for a media company.
they came up with the idea of having the two M's in the middle look like columns.

did i pull it off, or have i been looking at it too long??? LOL

Cool concept but I am having a hard time reading the M's with the columns as M's!

I agree with Bill. Have you tried making the entire M out of the colomns? Or making all M's this way. Possibly use the top colomn cap on the bottom as well. Or a large column laying on side under the standard text. Just a thought.

Hey Mark. Nice design. Cool concept too.
Maybe little less detail on the columns as the lines seem to run together, and how about putting a stone base to match to run underneath the whole name? It would give the columns something to attach to , maybe.

Hi Mark. I think what may improve the readability would be to change that first "M" to one with vertical upright letterstrokes. That first "M" establishes that the letter should have slanted strokes, and your eye begins looking for that in the succeeding "M's". When confronted with vertical colunms, the perception becomes a bit confused, and you start seeing "V's" instead of "M's" Nice concept though...it certainly has the mood and feeling of a museum.

hmmm..... all I would do is move them apart a bit so as all the columns are evenly spaced like they would be on the back of a saw-buck

thanks amy.

i hope i am not being obnoxious by posting updates and revision to this logo design.

i am hoping to give insight into the design process.

it is also good to hear from your peers.
sometimes you guys point out the obvious.

after talking and communicating via the internet with images, the client is very excited!!!

a deposit is in place with the understanding that as i labor on revisions i will be compensated accordingly.

thanks,

mark

Now yer done!
Dropping the double 'M' made a big difference in readability for me.
The typesyle change and the marble effect give the logo a sense of mass/stability.
I really like this version!
And I think it is cool to see the metamorphis of a design.
Thanks fer lettin us in, Mark.

Boy what an improvement, don't ya just love customers with ideas like this? I'd like to see you try the lower case m thats in museum, something about the slanted parts of the upper case m that give me the impression they are trying to shore up the columns. The lower case m will also balance out the negative space. I think it would still be recognisable as an m.
