I changed the name of my business somewhat recently, so I gotta get some new cards. I been playing with this design, and will probably use it with just a little more tweaking. I did the layout in freehand, exported it in parts as eps, and placed each part in photoshop. The bevel effects are added via eye candy filters. Probably be sending this to postcard press next week. All the basic info, phone, address, list of services, etc. will be on the back. The fonts I used are Boston Truckstyle and Esoteric Western and Esoteric regular from letterhead fonts.

John Lovely work, what did you create the images on (software?)
My first reaction is that changing the background to something other than blue might help since you are using various blues in the lettering.just a thought!

Love it,John Inspiration for a task I've got to tackle. Had the biz phone for almost a yr now, been waiting on new address (for 911 reasons). Just got it last week. Now it's time to redo the cards. Nice work, buddy.

cool design. like the choice of fonts. something about the tail on the "n" is bothering me, though. it seems a little too much? overall, it is too cool.
have a great one!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and comments. I made a couple of small changes to the design, but not much of a change. I was pretty pleased with the overall design, and it was fun to play with the eye candy filters on this one. I sent the order out today for the new cards, and I'll post one when they come in. Gavin, as far as price, about the same that Dan charges on net sales. Locally, around 200 per 1000, and I have a hard time selling them at that price. For so long, no one here locally could do anything but one color cards, and the quality was crappy. I started asking if any of the printers could order them for me if I produced the file. Nope. So then I saw what Dan was doing with cards, etc. and emailed him to see where he got them done. There are several companies out there doing them, but right now I like postcard press. They do good work at a good price, and fast turnaround. Maybe I can get some of the locals interested, maybe not, but I like being able to offer that service to them. Thanks, yall.

Thanks Ken. It's a great font. Course, you know that cause you designed it. I've already used it a couple of times on jobs. I really like the style.

Got the cards back today! They look great. Postcard Press does a really great job. I tried to scan one, but it just doesn't do the card justice. I am really pleased!

I use postcardpress as well and they do a fantastic job!
The first order I sent, I was worried about the colors coming out like they look on my screen because of equipment calibrations. I thought the blue would come out purple.. but.. the new cards came back, PERFECT!!
If anyone is interested, I have a photoshop template file setup for use with postcardpress. They provide one, but it's setup for 300 DPI and their press is set for 355 DPI. My template has the bleed size, border and safety zone already setup. Email me if you want it!
