Looked pretty quiet over here so I thought I would post a few pics of a recent project.
I was asked by the President of Master Lock Corporation to do a few large lock paintings for the upper lobby area of their International Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI.
The panels were to be stud mounted to the walls and backlit using strings of LED lights. The area around the panels was painted black and the elevator doors were painted to look like metal.
The large panels are just under 4' x 8' and the smaller third panel is just over 4' x 4'. I used catalyzed urethane automotive paints. The panels were then clear coated with a water based satin by the display company.
I used black DiBond for this project. The white color in the first photo is the protective plastic cover film. The black in the lock image is the background coming through. I used the protective plastic sheet as mask, which I cut and peeled off in stages. I masked off already painted areas where needed.
We decided that the switch for the LED lights for these panels should relate in some way, so I sandblasted a polished switch plate cover with a key image.

No Craig, that colored lock graphic in the background is actually a printed piece that has been there for several years. I wish we could explore some other options for that area, but that is not my decision.

Very impressively done! I'm not so sure I'd spend long in the toilets though-the aura makes it look like you might get locked in!

Hey Dale! Its been too long! Very very impressive work, as usual. Please do tell your Master president guy that I've been a loyal customer for as long as I can remember, but those new locks are just terrible!

Wow Dale! That's some cool stuff... I'm glad they are keeping you busy down there. Did you clear it with anything, 'er no? Love the light switch plate, nice finish.
