Here's a couple I've been meaning to post for a while.

The dentist sign has a DiBond backer. My EZ router cut the slats and letter surrounds out of hdu, as well as the Family Dentistry panel. The Santini letters and the caduceus were carved from hdu and gold leafed. I also used hdu to carve the picture frame type border. The base is skirted with copper DiBond. It looks pretty cool even though it looks a little washed out in the photo. The caduceus was the first major piece where I created the router file from scratch in Artcam. The design credit goes to Bruce Bowers who I contracted for a couple designs when I was swamped.

 -

The vet sign is DiBond panels with gold leafed Gemini Letters and router carved dog & cat.

Great looking signs Dave. I especially like the slightly off kilter layout on the vetrinarian sign. Being unsymetrical gives it a somewhat unusual look that almost demands a second glance. You've made it work exceptionally well.

Thanks Ken. The one thing I still have to figure out is how to photograph gold leaf for maximum effect. Even in bright sunlight the letters end up looking more like gold paint than gold leaf.

Two very nice jobs Dave.

When you figure out how to get good photos of gold leaf, please let us all know. [Smile]

Really nice work Dave and hats off to Bruce as well for his design talents. Does the blue background panel have a pattern effect to it as well or is that just the way it appears in the photo.

Very nice Dave. These type of signs using Diebond and cut out parts are becoming more popular. How did you attach the parts to the face? What do all the edges look like?
Did you box the sides on the dentist sign?
That is were the cost really jumps.
I too can't seem to photograph gold but I do select the gold letters in Photoshop and adjust the color. This is the only way to make it look better in photos.

The Santini background is green (must be a monitor thing) and the pattern showing in the picture is a reflection from some trees.

John, I used a LOT less hdu by using the DiBond as the background, and achieved much deeper dimension. I attached the hdu parts with West System epoxy. A challenge was the picture frame type border. I cut those as separate pieces with large bits and then glued them up. I'll think twice about doing it that way again.

The dentist sign is boxed. I cut DiBond on the router for a precision fit. Also installed a lifting i-bolt to lift the sign on the base with a crane. That baby was heavy with all that steel in there. Pictures below show the depth (10 inches if I remember right)the frame I welded up and a better shot of the border.

 -
The DiBond was easily flexible enough to follow the curve of the sign.

 -
Extra steel tube was welded on keep all attaching screws hidden.

 -
A good view of the border. Used ribbon gold for a pin line. (Not laid yet in this picture)

Very Nice Indeed! But that reflection of the trees and sky looks like a part of the back ground.lol And it gives me Ideas. Thanks for the explanation... I too am a big fan of Dibond.

Dave you have really mastered the art of using Gemini to make it look top notch. Wow. Really nice!! I would shop there just by the sign convincing me of quality.
