I've been wanting to do a steampunk themed design for a very long time. Unfortunately, not one customer has ever stopped in wanting this particular theme for their project. So when the CorelDRAW Design Contest was announced, I thought great! here's my chance to do one.
If you happen to be a member at Coreldraw.com. Check out all the entries and rate them. There is some really nice stuff this year.
If you are not a member and use Coreldraw. You should consider signing up anyway. It's a great community. In addition to Letterville, it is quickly becoming one of my favorite sites to visit on a daily basis.

Looks like you had a lot of fun doing that-great stuff! I like the ornaments & weights inside the letters. Reminds me of a cuckoo clock.

If you could make a 3D model of this sign, display it on your shop and post it on the kind of website only you could make I would bet you would have customers from around the world beating down your door and paying whatever it was worth to you.
SERIOUSLY AWESOME!

Joe, that is awesome that you thought of posting the drawings along with the finished product.
When I took my adobe illustrator classes I was amazed at how it was done, and fudged at a face with glittery tear drops, it was awesome but the tools are quite difficult to master, and what an awesome piece you've created; thank you for the closeups.

I wouldn't say the most organized, but it certainly was needed to keep myself from pulling out what little hair I have left.

Joe, That is some SERIOUS work! I feel like Amy, just not worthy. But really, give us a rough guess how long something like that would take (40 hrs?) For me probably a month of Sundays and then some.
Way to go and congrats on moving up the ladder to claim the final prize.

Yes, the last version I used was CS2 though.

My opinion is they are both great tools. I just happen to be most comfortable using Corel.

Just thought I re-look at this for a time, this is way beyond outstanding. Really like seeing the vector lines sure helps understand the effort wow
That is a real labor of labor. You should be really proud of yourself.
