Pontiac will soon be home to another museum. I'm very excited about this one. Here is the logo we did for it:

Excellent work there Joe!!! This would definitely look great as a dimensional piece.

What kind of sucks is it doesn't look like they are going to use it.
Here is their logo:

Hat to ask, but did they pay for your work?

The museum is new. The logo was kind of an olive branch to the owner. Being involved with these museums seems to pay of for us in more ways then one, so we took the initiative, when we normally let the client come to us. We took a gamble and lost... on the logo that is. I have a feeling we have just lost this battle but will win the war.
In fact, we have already gotten other work from them, including restoring a big huge Chief Pontiac statue. Who knows, maybe that olive branch worked after all.
At this point in time it doesn't sound like they want to use the design, But things change, we have a way of growing on people, and I'm not done trying to convince them that this design might work out better then their homemade one.
We'll see.

It is amazing how people can be blind to beautiful work. I would have been thrilled if I was them!

It really doesn't surprise me at all. I see it all the time when a prospective client has no clue to good design. They are hell bent and blinded to what is really good for them and no one can persuade them otherwise. By the way Joe, your design is killer and I would of been proud to have that hanging in front of my museum.

I too like your design much better Joe....I can see it as an easy to read sign that I would notice driving by and it would beg me to stop.
The other logo is difficult to read, does not speak automotive to me and I would most likely drive by it without much thought.
It's too bad that more people do not understand the importance of picking the appropriate look for the type of application a logo/sign will be used for!
