Couple came to me and offered their "blanket logo" but wanted their own entity
they offered
I counter offered and sold them a new logo

Is this a franchise they are a part of? Trademark it (or copyright it or whatever) before they take your design to headquarters.

philip i apologize for the reply but once a customer buys a logo from me it is their responsibility to take care of that, were you thinking I still owned this?

I didn't see the SOLD part of your post and thought you were in the design phase.
