Well I'm no John Deaton, but this was a fun little personal project and a good opportunity to further my freehand tablet painting techniques in photoshop.
The idea for this grumpy looking fellow originated as a joke among a few of my local motorcycle riding buddies and I decided to make it a reality just in time to print it as posters to give out at Christmas and hopefully some t-shirts down the road.
He's just our image as a joke of your basic good for nothing, beer drinking, cigarette smoking, no money in his wallet piece of biker trash. The dogs too scared to come close and the old lady just never stops screaming! Sound familiar to anyone... lol
Inspiration for a couple of the images came from some clipart sites but with the exception of the motorcycle image ( downloaded clipart for a previous customer job ) everything else was drawn out on the tablet in CS4 at a finished size of 20"x30"@300dpi

I like his teefs. If he was a bit scruffier and the woman skankier, they could pass for locals here. Love....Jill

Thats great! You have a great style there Bevin. Nice job on the color too. Gonna print that out?
