I redesigned the 'innards' to the Sheriff's emblem a few years back for their vehicles... and just now digitally printed the graphics and mounted to 3/4" PVC.... contour cut/routered by hand... created offset blocks on the back of the signs per the great advice here in Letterville...as well as installing my first Gemini letters.
I think they turned out reasonably well. The Gemini letters were neat... but I must admit, like someone had suggested to me in another post...if I did it over again I'd probably have made my own template, because I'm not totally sold with the kerning...but I guess it's passable.
There was one sign in the Sheriff's media/training room, one on the brick wall in the bldg foyer, and another small one on the brick wall in the Sheriff's office.... decals on the windows as you come up to the bldg.

Gee, next time I'm in Poterville, I'm gonna have to get arrested just so's I could get inside for a closer look at the signs. They look great.

Todd, that sheriff's star and MI shape is awesome. Great work.
I also agree on the kerning, I make my own patterns now because of that.
One thing on the lettering, and this is just my own opinion, but I'm not a big fan of that letter style. I really like their round face styles and prismatic styles but when it comes to the flat face I much prefer their Minnesota letters. They have much sharper edges and look a lot more like their much more expensive metal cut letters. I just think they look a lot classier where as their standard flat face letters look like... well plastic, especially for closer viewing distances.

I should have looked harder at the template before I used it...I was so excited to get it up that I didn't really scrutinize it like I should have... but everyone who saw it thought it looked great...I guess most people couldn't tell you good kerning from bad..which is too bad really.
Dang it Sam... I forgot all about that file... thanks for reminding me!!

The sign looks great. For the fun of it, I copied the logo and moved the star and flag so the star was centered with the lettering. It looks good that way too.

Really nice job Todd...bet alot of people here don't realize that the flag portion of the design is in the shape of Michigan...a shape I'm sure very recognizable to those living in state but something I didn't recognize until I pulled up a map...then it all made sense...neat idea...I like alot.
