Joe, do your hands cramp up much when you're doing these? I've been having trouble holding a gouge or mallet after 5 or 10 minutes of carving and its starting to get painful.
Glen, not a problem yet.....I'm very concious about gripping too hard.....plus I use what I call a "soft grip" tape on some of the blades and on my knives. I hardly ever use a mallet......don't like using a mallet cause it spends half it's time going backwards.....waste of time!!!!!
Joe,

You talk a lot, but for those that listen to the talk and absorb the talk, it is worth it!

Glad your hands are in healthy shape. Seriously, I worry about that for myself because I don't carve enough to be pushing any limits, mostly just a camp sign now and then, so I wouldn't really know what to watch out for. But I have wondered about wear & tear from carving. Especially when I get as good as you!
