For what seems many moons ago - I posted a "Dimensional" sign that Dan made comment about using layers - "make it truly dimensional" he said.
This has always been at the back of my mind, so when the opportunity arrived, I went for it. Hopefully this has upped the stakes in the dimension department.
All HDU, all paint except for the "corrugated iron" which is in fact clear corrugated perspex which is used for outdoor roofing. Kept the sign light, without using metal.
All programmed by me and cut on the MultiCam, hand finished with chisels.
I like how the circle around the lamp protrudes into the lamplight text panel bringing both elements together. Good job

That one should win you an award, make sure to enter it. I really like the way you anchored the elements to each other, great colours and so attractive. Did I mention I like it.

Great stuff Gregg! Nice colors....I can't tell how you got the woodgrain on the main panel. Is it textured into the panel then cut the letters into it? Or is it simply painted with a woodgrain tool? Masked, then routed? Can you share some steps done to make this part? Love the background texture.....what is it? pebble pattern or sandblasted? Thanks for sharing.....John

Hi John, the woodgrain process started with a primer of "Modern Masters - Copper" then I patina'd this. Then I recoated with copper and used a woodgraining tool then used the aging solution. So basically the background was flat. I then masked / routed. I was so happy with the end result as I had had the woodgrain tool for about 18 months and never used it.
The background texture was an idea stolen from Dirk here in Oz - it is simply a Dremel.
Thanks all for the feedback

Thanks for all the positives. I have just come back from a "road trip" saying hello to some signies out west, and they were even blown away, so I felt on top of the world.
Cheers
