Paint is a lot cheaper than "Real" Stone and Tiles!

BEFORE:

 -

AFTER:

 -

Customer wanted something different .. "Maybe a bit of a mural" to cleanup the renovations to his old house entry.

We got him to cover over the old pipe and brick work with some ply to make a pot plant stand along the wall.

 -

Fortunately Vicki my daughter was back home for a few weeks to help out before and during my annual holiday break. She had done a lot of Faux work in a senic shop in Europe once.

 -

We "Walled" in the large window to tie the two sides of the entry together and I "Tiled" the floor to complete the image.

 -

The blocks actually used 3 seperate tinted clear washes sponged over a beige base. Then spattered with black spots, wiped over lightly with a yellow wash and "grouted" with a liner.

The paint was gloss acrylics. Floor was enamel Paving paint detailed with tinted clear sealer and a final clear put over everything.

Lot of work, but we cut it out in under 3 days.

Outstanding Jon! I had to double check what was "real" and what wasn't several times!! Very convincing!!

This is really neat! I'll give ya a 10 for creativity too!!
