This is a small sign we made as a wedding momento to reflect an Australian feel & also a line from a Zane Grey poem they will be reciting on their wedding day.

Tell us a little about it / how you did it. It all looks hand carved. Love the texture on the background - lower section behind leaves. How did you do this? Is it Signfoam or Multipanel? Wjat size / thickness is it?
Cheers - Gregg
PS. How are the numbers for Shane's workshop going?

it's all handcarved & shaped on signfoam on the 19mm laminated to forex for extra thickness. it's an internal sign so i glued & srewed it together. the pattern was done with a dremel.
the numbers are still low for the workshops. i've contacted gamart but no reply as yet, to see if they can get the word out a bit more via their newsletter. i'm hoping there will be more interest.

this sign will be hung in their entrance inside their home. to remind them of their special day. runelo is their names, russell, ness & locky joined together. he is a keen fisherman & the wedding day was going to be very australian with gum leaf decorations. here goes the poem.
at midnight the wind in the tree tops awakened me. it had a low, menacing sound. i got up & went out on the bluff, & i was more than rewarded. beneath me the great rollers crashed to ruin on the rocks, with incessant changing roar. a half moon, low down, cast a pale light upon the sea. overhead orion appeared as always, sloping to the west & the southern cross, that magnificent & compelling constellation, blazed with white fire, high in the heavens. far out to sea there were gloom & mystery.
this is the first part. please excuse my punctuation.

i used a round head peice on the dremel & just dotted away. i used this pattern to give the impression of the light hitting the water at night time.

I still want to come to the workshop, but honestly can't/won't make a commitment till early October- it's a time & money & travel & priorities thing, and I'm losing a lot of time between now & Letterheads-Oz with other precommitted events that don't bring in the $$$.
I've just written a step-by-step article on using Multipanel HDU for the latest (due out next month I think) Visual Impact mag. It's all hand-carved in the story. Possibly Tony Russo would help out with some materials (i.e.Multipanel) for your workshop- but we're hoping we can get some for Letterheads, too! I doubt you'll get any sponsorship money as such, though. Leave off asking him till the story comes out- if you're lucky it'll help generate more interest in his product and he'll be keen to help out.
