I'm finding that "Four Seasons" is a tough concept to work with. Leaves and trees are the most obvious visual indicators of the change of seasons, but most of the solutions that come to mind are already taken. I've been trying to come up something unique, but not overly complicated:

Love the leaves. It's simple and bright, very attractive. I think it might look cooler if you stacked FOUR SEASONS HOME CARE left-justified, with the leaves beside it on the left, and "Ken's" in a script, like A&S Valentino or LHF Sophia, on top of Four Seasons. Always love to see your work, Russ. Love....Jill

Have to totally agree w/Jill's critique, a heavy script for "Ken's", would be my logical choice to compete w/weight of type used for "Four Seasons"...
I truly wish I had the equipment to achieve these ideas, but there are other designs I already see and would try out if so equipped...alas, that's not the case, have to be content to be just an "armchair" sign commando...heheheh But one I'd like to see if it worked would be to enlarge leafs to size limits and overimpose copy over them, the leafs being only colors used...use black over white for copy...I think it'd look great....BUT!!! separate Ken from Four Seasons....

Hey Russ, I'm really liking the way those leaves also look like stylized hearts. Did you do that on purpose?

I tried getting the script to work, but so far I haven't found a solution. Everything I've tried seems off balance and forced. Feel free to post any ideas. Part of the problem is none of my scripts seem to fit the bill.
On Friday I showed it to the customer the way I posted it here. He liked it, and the guy that was with him liked it too. He took a print with him to show his wife, but I didn't hear from him today.

Still love the graphic. Very strong yet simple and elegant. I loved the choice of Trajan as the main letterstyle. I think the light script keeps "Ken's" where it belongs.
Just my take.

Yup, a slashy script. Maybe even slashier than that. Maybe even in orange. But it still looks good as is. Love....Jill

When I tried the graphic in a circle it seemed somehow confining, but at the same time it seemed to need something to tie it to the text. I love how Marie Script echoes the shape of the leaves, but I couldn't come up with something that worked comfortably and the font that I used with it doesn't work at all. Speedstyle seemed to have the same bounce as your graphic. When I think of home care I think of a more casual comfortable thing. Four Seasons is a funeral homes here, so the idea of a formal script kind of gives me the shivers, or maybe it is the hearse and tombstone parked beside my shop that are making me think like that.

Love the logo designs; however, it is not a reflection of the business it is being designed for. Perhaps you've heard of Four Seasons Resorts? Or could this be read as Four Seasons Restaurant? I think it's perfect for a restaurant, but seems to have little to do with projecting a Home Care image. Is this business name Rest Home or Home Care? You need to make their brand memorable. I do like the heart-shaped leaves, it's a gentle touch, which is what your client wants his clients to perceive. Four seasons in this application are of course life stages, and anyone in need of your clients' services needs less flair and more reassurance, less frou-frou and more reliability and dependability. Choice of fonts is very important here. Stylized or casual brush stokes just aren't appropriate. I suppose I would move the heart-shape leaf motif to the corners, and go with only two or three in a cluster, stem ends facing the corner, and a variation in size as well as color. An odd number of elements is more visually appealing. I like how you have the initial caps larger; to emphasize the type of business, I would enlarge "Home Care" to become the primary copy, give it greater width and height, but not weight, if you know what I mean. As for fonts, how about Bernhard Modern Bold? It's solid and reliable looking, yet has a softer side. Hope this isn't too long-winded.

Perhaps some clarification is in order. I got the impression that this business was involved in the seasonal care and maintenance of the grounds ( landscaping, snow removal, raking leaves etc. ) Hence, the four seasons home care.
However, I can just as easily see that it might give the impression for Care of people " in-home " as a call-in nursing care service.
Maybe there should be some added emphasis on exactly what specific area this business is actually involved in.

I feel that emphasis on the script style alone gives it a "Flower Shop" feel. Even a simple icon of a house would re-enforce the idea of home maintenance, if indeed this is what they do. The name is a little ambiguous.

Thanks for all the feedback! I've been enjoying the images you all have posted and emailed. It's cool to see how other minds work.
I live in a resort town, and there are a lot of affluent people that have second homes here. I'm pretty sure this company does maintenance for these residences. I'm sorry for not clarifying that.
The customer wanted to have graphics installed on several vehicles last week, so we went with my original version - not because I didn't think it could be improved, but I felt comfortable enough with it.
Of the submitted versions, I think my favorite is the second one that John Deaton posted. I like the script, and it most closely matches what I had in mind when I started. The script is a little light, so here is how I would tweak it:

I'm doing one right now for a four season store. It is a hunting and fishing store, so I may have a few more options to choose from for graphics. When I first read the post I thought Russ may be cutting in on my territory all the way from Utah.
Just kidding
I forgot to say that I love the graphic you have Russ.

I designed a logo for The Seasons Apartments a couple of months ago and I used a similar theme of four leaves, with colors representing the seasons. Russ did a lot better job than me but I won't steal his idea.

Nice work all the way around. I like the freshness of the colors and the simplicity of the leaves. To distinguish the name of ownership and business is smart and I love the personality working it's way to completion in this post. What nice ideas.
