I wanted practice some textures on a portrait, here is the result, let me know what you think.

Since you asked, though, here's 2c (+ gst) worth: the creases in the neck look right-on, but the texture in the cheeks and forehead looks like it needs more focus or sharpness- it's just a bit too smooth for me-(maybe that happened in the optimisiing & resizing of the photo?) The woollen garment looks right, and the hair is great. I did a couple a long time ago, and getting the textures in the skin right was murder! The fabric was not so difficult to make look right. I've got a nice pic of a bearded old bloke that I'd like to a'brush as a practise sometime soon- also a good exercise in textures. The photo was in an engraving magazine that came out with Image magazine- you might even have it? Take a look- it's a good black & white pic.
Keep up the good work- was that all waterbased ink on cartridge paper?
