This is part of a small house marker, "Hawksview". Made from basswood, hand carved and stained with oils. The circle is 4 1/2" in dia. and it's about 3/8" deep.
Hope you like it.
Thanks,
joe,

Joe, Very nice...I use the same mat to carve on, and when it gets dusty and slippery I just have Ruth throw it in the washing machine and it comes out like new again. Nice work.

Ya, it's good stuff...Can you give me an example of how you use the bird shot? Sound interesting, and if its how I think you use it, what a cool idea.

What a great Idea Joe, thanks, will definately be trying that. As you said the foam hold pretty good, so this looks like it would give you that extra hand as you mentioned, instead of an elbow, forearm, or palm heel,(keep in mind two hands on the chisel) which can get tricky on smaller pieces...I like shifting my work around alot to accommadate grain changes etc. which makes clamping cumbersome to say the least... great idea, Thanks again. Pat
