This is a piece we had Graham help with. The plaque is of black walnut. Graham used his CNC router and cut out the oval and bevel it around the edge, leaving the rough in lettering and the beading on the surface( lots of calculate'n for the englishmen, but he pulled it off amazingly). I then bevel carved & gilded the main lettering around the oval and textured the B.G. around the lettering. The stain was dark walnut bringing out the rich walnut tones of the wood. The smaller lettering was hand painted in one-shot tan. I carved the fish from Saskatchewan birch, painted and airbrushed it. The small oval has a lasered image of the person the plaque is in memory of. The fish is totally painted with latex paints. This oval is attached to the left side of a larger rectangle shaped piece of black walnut that has brass plates attached on the right side to engrave the names of the yearly winners on. Thanks Graham.
