I hand lettered a Mercury 1951 pick-up truck the other day for a car collectors. When I was almost finish with the truck the customer was wondering what to do with that chevy 1957-150. The suggestion came to do a Stock-car out of it! The only thing is, it was around 9 and a half PM. Well you gotta beat the iron while it's hot!! I did the Stock Car overnight and finished around 7 in the morning! Another happy customer!!
It is sooooo rewarding to come to the job only armed with brushes and paint and leave the place with something like that behind!!
Life is so good!

Amen to that brother!!!!!!! It's a shame so many folks miss out on that feeling.
Another great job
I really like the rear fender treatment on the truck. The race car is great too, period correct, all the owner has to do is put black walls on it and leave the hubcaps off.
Another great thing about doing hand lettering. If this was done in vinyl when he added the race car you would have had to make another trip back to the shop

"I started out with nothing and still have most of it left"
I tried hard to convice the owner to add a thin red outline on Riverside Chevrolet, but he felt it would have look too classy for a cheap stock-car.
Georges, the car will now go under a few more changes, like adding a roll bar inside, treaded tires, no hubcaps, hood pins, a lot of mechanical changes also as the owner wants to drive it all year round here. and for the truck, I started by doing the fenders, just to make a point of what I was able to do vintage speaking!! I still have to convice the custmers most of the time!
Now I have to paint his racing helmet!!
As for the lettering classes, nothing else is planned yet, just drop me an e-mail so I,ll have your name in my list if something happens that way.
