So at the risk of getting yelled at for not changing my signature on my logo (in spite all the advice) I am posting my website for a critique. I have tested it on a few different browsers and seemed to work well across the board. Any ideas / glaring problems? Thanks.
Nice website. It is very clean and easy to navigate.
Good job!

I know you don't want to hear this, and I'm not going to yell at you about your signature....but I really liked the way you did the "O" in relation to your signature on the business card you posted...
Can't say I like the "O" in front of your signature on the website - doesn't mesh for me and the reflection only makes it appear as a lower case "g" to me.
Regarding the site? Very plain jane for a designers site. The makeup of the site should reflect strong design skills - after all, the site should instantly represent the skill and image of Chris 'the designer.'
I'd contact Joe Diaz, discuss your image, strengths as a designer, etc and let him develop a site that sizzles. It would be worth the $ in the long run.
Sorry I wasn't more positive....but I encourage you to keep working at it.
Sorry about the negative critique on that part.
The site itself -

what is a standard compliant web design as this is the first i have heard of this term.
i did find your site a little bland and wanting in the design. I agree with Tod on the "O" of the signature it seems that it is hard to read and part of the "B"
For a small site i found the images very clear and i personaly like the remote rollovers. Is this the scope of your work as a designer or is there more.
I take it from your site that you are more a designer than a sign man. So i think i should reflect the strength of your Design ability.

Chris, I would be more than happy if persons here didn't like my logo as most cannot decipher the difference between a logo and a sign. Looks like you done good for yourself

Yeah Jon, haha, I noticed that too- Add that to the list of changes. Thanks for the feedback to everyone, especially Todd. Todd- You said sorry for the negative criqitue- I don't think there is such a thing. A critique by nature is meant to hilight and point out all parts of a work. It's an observation, and everyone will have their own. You had a lot of input on the logo as well, and although I didn't take all the advice, it was greatly appreciated. It's much harder to say you don't like something than to say to you. Also, if I was working full time as a freelance designer, I would definitly think about talking to Joe Diaz- he does amazing work. The fact is, I work full time as a designer at a sign company, and I try to do freelance design work on my own. I have a lot of vector design experience (from working at a sign shop for so long) , but I am trying to work my way into raster/web design, so this website is as much a chance for me to learn-as-I-go, as it is an actual marketing avenue. Being such, I'm sure it will change often as I learn new techiques, etc.
Edited to add: Chris- Standards Compliant Web Design is just web design that adheres to the rules and recommendations set by the World Wide Web Consortium- the "government" of the web. Basically it means valid written code (html and css, etc.)
