I recently completed this logo for one of my clients.
They had set some guidelines with regard to font and colour and they wanted both the sun and a cross in it (son of God). I used the sun as a background, created the yellow outline to tie it all together, and extended the "t" to represent the cross.
I am interested in receiving your feedback and any suggestions for improvement.

Hey Jack. I don't get the message that they haul RV's until after I take the time to read it and put it all together. I think it might be better if Advantage is the first line and RV Hauling on the second. Leave off Inc.

Yup, bringing down the RV to the second line would help the flow and get the message across better.
Good suggestion, Mike.

I don't mean any rudeness by this at all, but does every logo on here have to be a type treatment? Is this the quick turn around logo? Just wondering cause I haven't done much of this type of work. When a business wants a sign do they usually have specs/style guide/ consistancy in branding? I'm talking about the average customer here... Do you push consistancy as a designer?

... Where's John Arnott??? Let me rant on him for a minute...hehehehhehehe...LOL!!!!!

Hi Jack -

Messing around with how I might do that logo....here's what I came up with.....if you like it I can send you the files...heck...no sense wasting it eh? It's all vector art except for a placed bitmap "glow" on the top side of the letters.

Edit - with and without the "Son/sun"

I like Todd's. Here is another option accentuating the "RV HAULING"

Hope this helps... Good luck.

Thank you to everyone for the input. The idea of moving "RV" to the second line makes a lot of sense and I really like Todd's cross.
Shortly after I posted my first message I showed the original design to my customer and they loved it. I am now going to move the "RV" and see if they feel the same way.
Thanks again for your help.

And the winner is Todd!
Jack, The customer will tell you what guidelines to use because that's all they have seen!(amature crap)
Don't do what the customer asks for if you can come up with a better idea. Ask them if they are open for suggestions, and the answer is always yes. That's why they came to you.
Once the see a much better idea (Todd's design is great)they will "See the light"
