Hi everyone, Just thought I would post some photos of a Smalt sign I just finished. The sign was all hand fabricated the old school way (no CNC).All the letters and details were hand cut with a Jig saw,Router or Band saw. The background is green glass smalt with black sand for the boarders on the side blades. The letters were hand striped. The sign was fabricated with Medex laminated and coated with Epoxy. The finish is a combination of Poly Urethane for the background and 1-Shot for the details. I used a mix of Holdfast and 1-Shot to adhere the Smalt. Sometimes I find it rewarding to do things the old way.

That is awesome Rick. Very clean design with all the precision of a router. I too am doing things the old fashioned way, but I'm looking hard at a router as I type.

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

A beautiful job and such a pleasure to know it was done by hand and not machine.
