I didn't make the panel, but was allowed to design the lettering and layout. I struggle with colors, some of these I had to redo after adding other things into the sign. I had a plan before hand, but some things I just can't know until I see things together. Speaking of color, for some reason, the colors in the train illustration are showing up much more intense than they are on the sign. I'm really enjoying OS medium gray as an additional way to dull colors.

I love that James! The text looks so 3-D, what a neat trick. Love your blended shades. I can appreciate the work you put into this thing! The striping, the pictorial, the colors, the scrolls.... all of them work together to make an absolutely lovely piece. Very impressive. Thanks for the tip about 1-S grey too. Love....Jill

James, I really like the dimensional effect and how WhistleStop envelopes the lettering below. They fit perfectly and the style is really effective.

Thanks for the kind words. Truth is, this is one of the few jobs I made a sketch for that wasn't to scale (oops). Had to wrestle with it a bit.
Got to practice with the pinstripe brush a lot, look at the background. Thanks again.
