You still got the stuff, baby! hey I like those faces, they're really charming. Do you mind telling us what you used for the yellow glows? Is that translucent paint or is that just very bright with dark shadows?

I mix my flouresants with the flat colors so they are not too garish or too dead.
The brightness of the gold looks brighter partly because of the dark contrasts around it...and they have the lights on inside the office and I took the pic after dark...
No...not busy with windows, I only had three clients this year...I didn't do any in CA this year (helping dad move) It's cold out so I'm not upset, and I'm swamped with sign orders that will have me busy well into the new year.

My wife sorta ruined any window work up here. She has her art students paint windows for halloween. The shop owners are used to getting that stuff done for nothing, so when it comes to a job they freak over the price.
But I have a question. What kind of paint do you use? When my wife has her students paint, they use tempra with a little dishsoap mixed in for easy clean up. But we get very cold here in the U.P. and the windows sweat a lot and would cause runs with tempra.

Dave, I use latex flat for the base coat, and acrylics and flouresant temperas (high quality not poster paint) mixed together, I've never painted windows that sweat on the outside so I can't advise you there. A:)

Great Stuff Adrienne ... why don't you enter some in "Sign of the Month" ? Please.
We haven't done many "Christmas" windows this year except for a few regular customers. Too busy to promote them. Besides there seems to be a trend to "el-cheapo" vinyl mass produced decals
We don't have the cold/wet window problems down here but still do all our window splashes now on paint receptive vinyl in the workshop. It's a matt white 4ft wide removable vinyl. We use Avery, but Callon and Oracal 620M make a similar product. At less than 50c/sqft. it beats time and cost of painting background white on the window. Cleanup is a breeze ... just peel off, no mess.
You could still do your CA windows using this stuff Adrienne in the comfort of your own shop:) Just post them to the customer. They are a breeze to instal. We knife the outlines afterwards as it's easier to apply rectangular sheets.

Adrienne, our windows don't sweat on the outside either, they just freeze. So I guess with our local temps, (highs in the teens or below, often single didits) painting windows in the winter is not a plausable idea.

Very Nice, Adrienne- what sort of price do you get for them?
(I've almost finished 16 Christmas banners to go on light poles- I'll post pix when done- vaguely similar to yours - & all hand done- but in a different class.)
