Ahhh! The benefits of having a signmaker in the family. Just shipped this one to my lucky sister-in-law for her new workout studio in Grand Junction, CO.
It's color scheme was inspired by Suelynn Sedor, Thank you Suelynn.
It's made from 1/2" MDF, and One Shot Paint, utilizing GerberMask. The picture doesn't quite show it but Emerald Green field has a subtle airbrushed fade of Dark Green just in from the Gold Metallic stripe, the custom mix burgundy was left over from another job. Sure wish I'd start writing down what went into some of these mixes so that I could duplicate them at a later date. LOL. Lettering is ivory, outline and drop combo is Dark Green.

This is a small interior sign that will hang in the front door. The mdf was selected for two reasons, first, I just happened to have a cut-off that was the perfect size, and second, due to the shape of the panel, I figured there would be less prep work on the edges than if had used mdo.

I started out by cutting intermediate vinyl in the shape of the panel, slapped that on the mdf board. Then cut out the majority of the sign with my bandsaw. A couple of spots were just to tight and required a scroll saw.
After that, just a little smoothing out with a file, then a quick pass over both sides with a round over bit in the router, a little more filing in the tight corners, some hand sanding, and it was ready for painting.
