No Vynuull sticking on this one, all hand painted. It's 2'x 16' AC plywood (Jill hates MDO). Had this one in the works for a few weeks, felt good to get it done today. We'll be re-doing the signs out front and the vehicles as well soon.

Looks Great! The line under Custom signs is a little tough to read. What is it? Phone?

The pics really aint that great, it's way more vibrant than what's seen here. The line underneath there is "Est. 1985". It's pretty subtle and don't really wanna show up in the pics.

That line on the bottom isnt much to worry about considering the garage is set back from the road anyway, but the main copy of the sign is what will catch anyones attention if they look towards the house. The signs out front will really catch some attention I'm sure.
in my pee poor opinion that is an excellent sign

Hey! For the record, Stevo did this one all by his lonesome. He wouldn't let me near it! It was nice of him to do this for me, wasn't it? He wanted to play up the fact that this is my 20th year in the sign biz. Cat, I just don't like MDO, never have...never will. The paper layer breaks down way too quickly in my opinion. Love....Jill PS Thanks Stevo!

I was a little skeptical about using that type of plywood but it really wasn't bad at all to work with. Takes a bit more sanding and maybe a thicker coat of primer. Her previous sign was made out of the same stuff and it lasted close to twenty years so I'm pretty confident this will last too.

Beautiful Job! You sure are gutsy using AC plywood though. Down here, that stuff starts breaking down in about a year.

VERY IMPRESSIVE !!! Neat, orderly, eye catching and to the point. Great layout !! LOVE those colors !!
Question: I have to do a 4 footer here for my landlord. Having not used AC Plywood, what secret primer formula do you use to keep the grain from showing through in 6 months ?

AC grade plywoods have one finished face usually Douglas Fir made with exterior glue. I have 3 coats of latex primer on it and sanded in between the 2nd and 3rd coats on both sides and two coats of one shot on the background. It turned out pretty smooth. The edges themselves might have about 6 coats on it. It's sealed up good! I know it sounds like alot more work but I didn't mind putting in the extra time on it, now that I have a garage to goof around in.
As evidenced by Jill's last sign it seems to hold up pretty well here. I'll definetly be keeping an eye on it to see how it does.

Jill/Stevo - I went to my local Home Depot tonight and got a blank look from the young guy in the lumber section when I explained what I was looking for.
Do you happen to have a product number, SKU # from Home Depot would be good, or even an idea of who makes it?
