Just thought I'd show a neat thing to go along with a sign I sold. Printed this out on the versacamm and stuck it on some coro. These are double-sided. Add a step-stake and presto! These are pretty easy to sell!

Oh hardly Jilly!! This is just a cheater one! You are definately the queen of crankin them out!
Amy, I just cut it with a sharp knife. The edges aren't perfect, but passable. I find it helps to print a white border around the outside, then you can follow it to cut them out.

By the way...got the problem with the Soljet resolved.
The guy from Wensco gave us a bunch of unsupported [profile] vinyl....and as soon as we switched to Roland...the standard mode printed beautifully....
It's only profile approved materials from now on...
That machine is just kick-butt!
Have you timed any prints yet? We did a 48" long image and printed it lengthwise in standard and high-quality modes. The image was a jpg file that we exported as an .eps with a very intricately detailed cutline....it took 15 minutes in standard mode, 28 minutes in high-quality mode....
Both were exceptional images...the HQ of course was photographic....but standard was too, with just a notch down in "smoothness" but still way beyond the capabilities of the Gerber Edge 2 my buddy had....
All's well on the SolJet front....we're learning new stuff as we go...but nothing is slowing us down now.
My only concern still remains laminating. If we used liquids....you have the problem of where to store the prints in the event you're printing several large pieces in succession????
I hope my buddy eventually gets a cold laminator...but he's spent all he's going to spend on equipment for the time being.

I print almost everything in standard, and I haven't bothered timing anything. It prints slow, but I just load it and walk away.
Is your machine solvent, or eco-sol? There are tons of products besides Roland that the machine prints well on. Oracal has lots of media too, and you can download the profiles from oracal's site. I have had the best results from Roland material, and will continue using it.
I apply laminate wet with rapid tac. I only laminate vehicle stuff and license plates this way, but it works fine for now. I've also got my eye out for a laminator. Just spray the print, and the back of the laminate, squeegy out all the liquid, and wipe it dry. Make sure you turn the heat off when you reload for cutting. On stuff like the sign shown, I apply the graphic and then give it a spray with one-shot or frog.
Glad you are enjoying the machine.

Thanks Suelynn....we're going to check into the Oracal profiles/materials too..and test a few...
We haven't done any vinyl lamination...so haven't had the experience of reloading/realigning material to cut after it's been printed and removed from the Soljet....how is the registration of the cut after reloading laminated material for the final cut?
Love the machine....
Great choices on fonts for that digital sign...I've got those purchased myself from the Letterheads site....very cool layout...

You are my hero! The sign looks great, and the fact that it isn't a rectangle wins HUGE points in my book! This sign proves that even our basic work can be special.
I LIKE it!
