I thought I would share a project that I worked on a while back.
I work at a University Art and Design Department and was asked to construct a tool cart that graduating art students could use to set up their senior art shows with.
Well like I said, I work in an Art Department so not just any tool cart would do.
One friday night over a good ole fashioned Northern Wisconsin friday night fish fry, a few students and I come up the the solution below.
This is an old video cart of some kind? I built up the back section to look like the roof of a cathedral. Built two doors and trimmed it all up. I then picked a Simone Martini Madonna to be painted on the front doors.
Some of the features include solid brass Angel candle stick holders from Mexico...gold vinyl coated hammers, sandpaper slots, slide out paint can tray, gold coated paper towel holder, and lots of sheets of imitation gold leaf!
Here's the cart in all it's splendor....
And then when you open up the main doors Mr. H is on the inside...DOH!!!
The back of the cart is complete with inlaid "coins of the world" as well as silver and gold gilded cross... And what tool cart would be complete without a broom holder?
And a parting shot of Miss Madonna...lovely.
This is the second in a series of tool carts, the first being covered in Lascaux animal paintings.....

I like it, displays excellent craftsmanship and an off-beat sense of humor. But for some inexplicable reason, it makes me feel guilty! Musta been all those years in Catholic school. Love....Jill

Oh my god, That has to be the funniest tool cart I have ever seen. You have a religous experience evertime you decide to sweep. I have seen tabernackels at churches less ornate than this masterpiece.
