Your paintings are fantastic Shep! I really enjoy seeing your work.
Care to divulge any trade secrets? I've been trying to paint some artwork for my boy's bedroom and I'm having trouble blending colours using acrylic artist colors.
The last painting I did for him, I used Floetrol, a latex paint conditioner from Home Depot. It worked ok but is there something better suited for blending? The paint just seems to dry too quickly to be able to work colours together.
Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

Terry, Beleive it or not..I use a Hair Dryer when I am painting Artist Acrylics........
Let me explain.....to get the effect that I want I paint in the "Egg Tempra" style..that is I thin the paint to an almost transparent state...then I "Layer" several layers to get the almost irredescent effect that I want.....(These are more like Glazes)...I mix water with Acrylic Medium....(Gloss or Matte ) to the consistency that I like.....sometimes when I want a rich Brown....I put down tiny lines of Purple beside of Orange....then the Eye "Blends" the colors to make Brown..........Or Red beside of Blue to make a Vibrant Purple.....Also I almost never use Black.....instead I use Ultamarine Blue mixed equal with Burnt Sienna....this gives a rich "Black" that doesn't look flat or "Pasted On"
And for a "Brighter White" I add a touch of Blue.....
I hope this helps............

Super composition and lighting and colors. And THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the description of your technique - that makes so much sense. Like Terry, I look at stuff like that and say "acrylic? yeah right" I can't blend that stuff worth a hoot. Now the light goes on...I only wish I could see more of the texture and strokes used. I'm betting it is really smooth with zero stroke ridges like you'd surely get using it at tube-consistency.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments........
Joe....
You are right ..most of my Paintings there are practically NO brush strokes....hence the reason for using Belgin Linen as a Substrate.
George...
Thanks for the support......

Mark,
I can make "Giclee" Prints on Canvas....... however I will probably not make the regular Limited Edition Prints on Paper.....
Mark Stokes.......
This Painting took around 24 hours of actual painting time..and about 4 hours for doing the pencil sketch.......

I was fortunate enough, a couple of years ago, to have taken a woodgraining class from Shep. Some of the items, that he has created, are on display at his studio in NC and are worth the price of the class alone. Thanks Shep, show us more.

Shep, you need to come to the meet and look through my Cuba photos. You would flip over some of the cars there. Some would make nice reference material. This is a great piece.
