Well since I have been slow I decided to paint my daughter's room. She's only been asking me for about 3 yrs. now!! I have never done this but I am very pleased with it so far considering I had no help and have never seen anything like this done before. The only part I really hate is the butterfly. It just looks silly. But my daughter wanted it.
This is not completed just yet, as Karen said, I still plan to add some flowers and more detail around the grass to make it less plain.
Critiques are welcome!

Nice, Amy! I really like what you did with that road.
If it was me, I'd add some darker shadows to the castle. I have the same tendency to use soft contrasts and usually have to force myself to go darker, but it really gives it more of a 3D look.

Looks great, add a few animals as well, Bambi, rabbits and birds, maybe put a hole in the tree, add an owl, Maybe a real picket fence against the wall, then Paint grass on top of that as well... he he I'm sort of making good natured comments on this one because this looks like a Mural I did 10 years ago for a customer, and that is how I finished the job, you talk about the Depth a Picket fence about 24 inches High gives the room.
Good Luck Amy

great job Amy, better then I would expect if I took on a challenge like that, & of course it doesn't need anything... but if Bill gave me a suggestion on adding highlights & shadows on my work... I don't care if it was on my doghouse, I would want to rise to the challenge for the sake of learning... just like I fully expect Amy will want to do judging by the appetite for knowledge, skill, & experience I've seen from her over the years. And besides... what a perfect excuse to make a model castle out of papier-mache to study the shadows for this project & then add to the decor on the other side of the room.
