Well after bashing my head repeatedly against the wall, I finally sent out for reinforcments. I commisioned Steve Chartrand of Stevo Designs to whistle up a logo for me for my shop and I feel he hit the mark I was looking for. Now to bring it to life, hopefully over the next couple of weeks!

Neil, it's A&S Motherlode for the lowercase- I've used it ourselves, a nice font! The T is modified from something else that's just escaped my mind- an adaptation of Candice or Banana Split or thereabouts.
