Here is something I am working on and have a problem with. If I use Corel 9s drop shadow tool or transparency tool I get these crazy distorted blocks around the said item. I am trying to get in touch with you but un till then I just wanted to post what it looks like so when we talk you will have it in front of you.

Sorry dude I didnt have the solution for ya. I used to have this problem with a faded white box around my transparent objects with older versions of Corel.

Anyone have any answers? Dave?

Ryan....looks very fine as is....

I'm guessing that you have used layers for effect since your drop shade tool is freaking....
and i'm takin' for granted that you're speaking of the 2nd black contour outline on river rats.?

Were you looking to "extrude" the black contour outline "shape" so that it appears solidly dimensional and behind that your gray drop shadow?
I have done that succesfully and used a duplicate contour vector ouline of the extruded shape to fill grey and layer behind the letters...
That seemed to conserve memory better....the memory factor could very likely be related to your drop shadow tool functions on corel 9.

How are you going to produce the final sign panel? Paint, airbrush, and vinyl?

Quite nice job.....Jimmy

Ryan, I had the same problem before. A print company told me to put the drop shadow on to the colored background, then turn the entire panel into a bitmap. This only shows on colored backgrounds, the white backgrounds work fine. good luck John Arnott

I steal mine from old adds and change them up a good bit.

John, That sounds like it will fix my background but not my transparent reflections that are on top. Stevo seems to think it is a glitch in Corel 9. Thanks for the help though

Ryan, Just a couple tips for you when drawing your "twinkles". Lately I have changed the way I draw them and feel it does give it a better effect.

Instead of drawing just an 8 point shape I upped it to about 24, then extend the arms on it and brought the radius in pretty tight.

This way it looks like it has a glow to it already without having to put on a glow, or transparency in Corel.

Thanks I will try that. Addiing my background to my drop shadow and converting the image to a bipmap worked also. Good find on the site. Thanks everyone
