I had a few comments from other sign guys, so I thought I would share this with you.
Its overall size is 4' x 6' x 1/2" pvc with 1/8" pvc (splash) freehand formed.
All the sponsors names were v-routed into the pvc. Its all painted with one shot paints and hardener.
The word splasdpad was drilled and tapped in the backside and the splash is fastened to it as a unit with screws. Then that whole thing was fastened to the main sign the same way. This was all mocked up ahead of time and then taken apart to paint.

Great forming, Rob! Can you describe the steps/method for the watersplash piece, ie,heat gun, pressing it over shapes, ets.

Very very nicely achieved effect, but it seems to fight with the rest of the panel being so nice and formal.

Thanks, this sign was fun to do. Some things I would do differently the next time.
This is the first time v-routing a sign. I personally don't like it in this case. Next time I would go a little deeper with it. It didn't take long for the background colour to take away the depth of the letters. I started to letter(paint) the sponsors names and it was going slow. There must be a faster way? I ended up painting in the letters quickly then taking a cloth dampened with thinner wrapped around a piece of wood and wipping off the excess paint. Done in twenty minutes.
Suelynn, it is once piece of 1/2" pvc routed with 3 steps.
John, I clamped the "SplashPad" to the splash. Using a heat gun and heating the pvc untill it got soft, then had some fun forming the pvc outwards using my hands. I wanted the wording to look like it had hit the water.
Terry, I just wet sanded the grey pvc before painting and in between coats. The background has two coats of paint. There is bondo over the bolt holes holding the hanger blocks on the back. Maybe using a high build primer first before spraying the background would of saved the two coats of Blue. Just a thought.
The splash was painted twice. The first time I took it outside to put in the sun to dry, i go out to get it and its full of finger prints. gurrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
