Is it just me or do alot of you have trouble designing your own stuff? Anyhoo, here's what I've settle on so far for a new look! It's just for my truck doors and a wall sign for my shop, biz cards. Anything you see to help it out lemme know!
Thanks

The only thing that seems to bug me is the repetition on the words (sign - graphics). I think the name of the company mentions it once and that is enough. I would probably change the sign and graphics with the Tel # . Looks good to me.like the style

Chuck, I like the concept overall...but a couple things in my opinion:
1.) I don't like the really wide "beige" and black border around "prographics". The fat beige border in such close proximity to the beige "ProGraphics" takes the punch out of "ProGraphics". I'd use a darker contrasting color if you want to keep the darker border...like dark blue perhaps.
2.) I'd ditch the radiating lines in the circle...it causes visual buisiness and makes the "ProGraphics Sign Art" difficult to read....and I imagine even more so if you're vehicle has the decal and is in motion.
3.) I'd look at a different, slightly bolder font for the words in the circular band.
4.) The circular band color looks brown on my screen, I'm assuming it is some form of gold/bronze? If it's brown, I don't care for it...
Basically I really like the layout minus the radiating lines....the colors need tweaking. Hope this helps.

I think you got some real good tips here already & I'd like to see the changes if you decide to make any.
The only thing that was really buggin' me & not exactly mentioned... I guess it is an optical illusion, but the radiating lines at the bottom don't look like the are the same as the top. I think it's just because the top is the only place they have "radiated" far enough to get as widely spaced as they are, & it makes them look more parallel, or as if they are not on track to converge to tha same vanishing point as they appear to be heading for down below. Like I said, probably an optical illusion, but it bugs me enough to want to lay a straight edge on it to check. (Some of the top ones look thinner too ?)
Anyway, it's not important, but if it has you looking at it funny now too, the only change I would probably try if it were mine would be to bring them to a vanishing point lower then the current one. This would make the difference between the appearant spans become less pronounced.

The loge is very professional, I like it. The only suggestion from this old guy would be to either eliminate the red shadow or change it to a thin outline no heavier than the white highlite.

Here's the revisions. I think it's been improved thanks to the suggestions! Lemme know whatcha think now. Some of the changes where, lightened the ProGraphics with yellow to white, made the red outline around SignArt smaller, consistant blend on the SignArt, darkened the brown ring, made the radiant lines smaller (they are straight) and darkened the blue in the radiant lines and did the flip! Oh and moved the highlight and made 'em glow a bit.
As for the acknowledges;
Denis, I used the "extra" signs & graphics just for filler hence the lighter type. As for the phone number I'll probably add that to my door. I feel like I have to spell it out a little more around dees here parts don't ya know!
Todd, thanks for the input, but I don't really want to redesign the whole thing! This is going on a gold chevy truck so that's why I chose the brown/beige scheme and the blue being the complimentary color I think!
Janet, I really admire your work as well as your suggestions, so most the revisions are yours. Tell me what you think now. Oh and thanks too!
Jack, Aw shucks I do need to get out there and see ya too. I was out past you the other day, but couldn't stay long, so I headed back. Thanks for the kind words and now I guess I'll have to get my picture in the book too! He he he Good article in SignCraft. See ya soon.
Doug, here ya go! The lines are straight, but after looking at them they did seem off! Good eye! See how this one looks.
Bill, thanks for the compliment on the design. I'm not sure which red you're talking about though. If it's the red around the PROGRAPHICS then it's really a red outline around the other "shade" color of the letter which is like a light orange, but doesn't show up on the lower res to post it. It's supposed to have a beveled edge look which it does in the original print. I did lesson the red around the SignArt and it cleaned it up some.
Steven, thanks for the feedback, but I didn't want the lettering in the circle too big do to the fact it's all in the name. I used it for filler mainly, plus the more education in this area the better. I wanted the extra distinction that it's just not signwork!
Thanks for all your input. I really like the feed back I get here and the different ways people view the same layout!
Take Care All,

Here's one last revision. I think I like the cream over the yellow although in the picture it looks more orange. Thanks for the help!

I took off on my own with your design. I felt the colors were a bit too busy and didn't care for the heavy outline. Also noticed that the light sources were fighting each other(different directions).
As you can see, I pulled down the "SignArt" to keep it away from the lettering above and stretched it horizontally. IMHO, I felt it worked better not to overlap as much. The "o" in "Prographics" seemed pinched by it.
Something like this leaves room above for adding an illustration and the bottom gives emphasis on your address.
Then again, I could be completely wrong..... Rapid

Personally, I liked the next to last one the best, but they both tripped my trigger! I look forward to seeing the finished product running around the mean streets of Cabool....

Thanks for the layout! What I had envisioned was to promote Sign ART as opposed to just some cut out vinyl shop. I thought it may convey a better description of the "type" of signage I like to produce and therefore a prettier penny. We'll see!!! I did move the SignArt off the Prographics some more, but I like the look overall. They both have the same priority with the message I'm trying to send so that's why I set it up that way. I like the Cabool idea though, thanks! Where did you get that flare? That's cool! There's a bunch that goes into it as you know as far as what you're trying to advertise, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Thanks Janette...
Thanks Jack! I don't like the third one either. I'm not sure what happened there...I'll be out to see ya sometime!

Chuck, The flare was done in Photopaint. The command is EFECTS/RENDER/LENS FLARE. I used the 35mm prime. Should you have to paint it, an airbrush works well. It's also available in Photoshop.
