My buddy Russ Gilchrist got this job last week for a 4' x 60' fascia sign for a new bar, Chimmy's Neighbourhood Pub & Grill.(we call it Chimpys hehehe). It's all MDO with good ol' One shot using 6, 4'x 10's. I wasnt crazy about the vermillion at first, it was their choice being the interior colour, but it has kinda grown on me.
So we spent the weekend slinging paint and havin a blast. Easily the biggest sign I've have painted so far. Being a Vynull chimp at my full time job this was a great departure from all the sticky things.
Should be installed by mid week and I'll post some before and after pics.

It's a big one alright! Glad to see a painted sign. You did a nice layout too. The vermillion seems to glow. Love...JILL

Steve, that looks like so much fun! I can't wait to see the installed pics. Good job...
How about a detail on what ever you've got holding those boards up, it looks interesting as well.

Here she is all installed. Hard to believe that its a 60ft sign it looks smaller installed.
Russ got a shot of the garbage awning that was there before. Yuck! Still not sure I like the colour after seeing it with that green roof but it is still quite an improvement from what was there. I'm gonna go to work on monday and throw the plotter in the garbage after makin this one, it was too much fun to do. heheheheheh

Great job on Chimpy's sign. Liked layout & letter style. Just did not understand the painting procedure. Looks like you painted backgrond white, then lettered outline of letters, then lettered vermilion shade, then cut-in vermilion backround color? I would have thought- background finish of white, mask[application tape]& hand cut letterig, peel background, roller coat vermilion, peel letters, then hand letter black outlines. Done... Or cut the leeters on trans mask or entermediate vinyl apply wet, don't squedgee to much[comes off real easy],roll vrmilion, etc. Just a ol' signpainter a wonderin. It's like ridin a bike, you can pick up a brush, after days, weeks or sometimes months of none use an the magic is still there.
