I just finished this two Sign. V-carved sign on 3/4 MDO material with cedar mold on top. painted with one shot gold. A guy around here did the cnc v carved.
Also a 4'x4' 3mm Dibond Material was rolled to do the blend color add ppg dcx61 hardenes, Hand letterd, airbrused the car also add ppg dcx to the 1 shote paint , I let pait dry next day I clear Coat with PPG DCC acrylic Uretane. And this is the finally job.
This have to go today befor the weather gets bad.

Don't you see the layers of wood once you carve into the MDO? And then how do you waterproof it? I seal the edges of my MDO signs with Gorilla Glue before I paint them. I would think carving into MDO would leave large areas of exposed layers of plywood just waiting to delaminate. Has anyone seen a carved MDO sign last outside for any lenght of time? I'd be very curious.

Nice looking signs Sal If you double prime after you cut why wouldn't it last?????

It is MDO primed , and this Sign is for indoor even though the edge were seal 3 time plus two coats of paint and two coats of clearr coat. I will fell very confident that is well done sealed that you can even use oudoor.
