ok....as to your questions....the extreme was computer cut in paintmask. A new piece of paint mask was attached to the top edge of that mask, and the dragon was cut out of that. I worked from a full scale drawing to make that mask (which was just the outline). All of the masks were applied first. The flames were hand laid with 1/8" blue, then back masked. Silver was laid. Then all of the blue was laid in freehand. After the blue I masked off that edge and surrounding areas where needed, then sprayed transparent white for the highlight. Then another shade of blue was layered on the leading edge of the chrome. At this point the flames were done except for the outline. I laid another window mask that only exposed the xtreme interior. I sprayed this fade next. A coat of intercoat clear was then laid and I recut a window mask to expose the dragon (which was still the basecolor of the car). I transferred my line drawing to the vehicle using saral transfer (white) and a fine stylus. The dragon was then painted 3-d in transparent white. When it was completed I laid another coat of intercoat clear. Then painted kandys made from sg-100 on the dragon. Some masking was used to only expose the neck of the dragon so I could darken those shadows (thats what the intercoat is for). then I pulled the outline mask on extreme and painted that. Then pulled the inline mask to reveal the basecolor. Pinstriped the edge of the flames, outlined the dragon and clearcoat. Hope this answers any questions.

Thanks so much for the compliments. I like it when the customer is happy, but I repect my peers compliments much more. I guess like everyone else I'd do this stuff for free cause it's a blast to do, but the reality of it doesn't allow this. On the reality side of the coin it's always infathomable to me how much clients haggle over the price for this stuff. If you want it cheaper, call someone else. The price, is the price. Period. So I quote outrageous prices for the stuff. Sometimes they stand, which actually makes the pressure incredible because you've really stuck your neck out for a flawless job. Other times it gives me a little wiggle room so I can get what the job is worth. I'll be glad when my reputation catches up with my work and I can get what I want every time. Again, thanks for all the kind words, they mean the world to me.

You da'man Zant! That's incredible work my friend! I'd say screw the reputation and stand on anything you quote or let 'em walk. That will give you your reputation. Excellent work deserves a premium price and discounting is very short lived.

Keep 'em coming....

Dude, that is one of the coolest things I've seen.
I saw it when you first posted and immediately put the pictures into my reference archive ... then ran out to my garage to play.

Obviously I'm not trying to compare as these were only a couple hours of play with 1 mask and createx.
Just,THANKS for the inspiration ... I'll probably be playing with this for a while [Smile]
