I just completed this mural a couple of weeks ago, again, I had a hard time getting some good acurate pictures
It measures about 14'x8', it was a lot of fun to paint,(until I got to the buildings) at the time I had no reference pictures of the way I wanted the skyline to look, so everything was just freehanded. (I have since found some better reference shots, if I ever have to do hundreds of buildings again) The whole room was painted to look like an alleyway, with the illusion of the busted out wall. The ledge was built out of crown moulding, and spidey was cut out of masonite and attached to the wall. (this was done so that the characters could be interchangable later) the photo doesn't show it well, but the spiderwebs are 3-d and go all over the room and ceiling. btw, that is my son Jacob in the pic who was there the whole time I was painting. the wheels have been turning in his head, so it looks like I will painting him a "Justice League" mural this summer. I have to make sure that Wonder Woman is on the wall!
