A bit hard to photograph with a glass on it, but this is one that I did a few years ago. It is a study of a Vargas' girl from a 1944 Esquire. Studies cannot be sold, but I hang it in my gallery as a teaser. I have had 3 offers over 3000.00, and one of them 5000.00....They always want what they can't have. I have only done 5 other artist studies (copies) in my career, and still own all of them except one. It was a small portrait of Marilyn Monroe and was stolen. This piece is about 30x40 and done on illustration board. It has been intermixed with pastels, because at that time, I didn't have a good control on the airbrush. Iwata, has helped me with that. Hope you like it. Bronzeo

Neil, I used thinned down tube acrylic or cresent illustration board. Keep in mind that this piece is several years back, and before and lot of the modern airbrush inks. They were a real pain to work with. I needed to use a type of material that would exemplify the Vargas look, as this was a study for a portrait of a Vargas collectors wife. Vargas, is of course now expired, so I got the call. He new my style would not be exact, but thought I did great on the study. Just as I finished the study, their daughter came up with a tragic disease, and they had to pospone the commission. This collector has one of the hand painted flight jackets from the Enola Gay.
