This is a logo I did for local contractor. I'm lettering his truck this week. The vector artwork was originally created in Freehand, then I brought into Fireworks the lettering for LaserTech and used the EyeCandy bevel feature. I then pumped up the resolution, exported back into Freehand, and placed the graphic in a vector path for LaserTech. The soft shadow under the logo in not a bitmap, but rather a vector (theres actually two). I then grouped and outlined the whole thing so I could print it and contour cut it on my PC 600. (If this seems confusing, I'm doing a Step-by-Step on it for SignCraft next issue)
The lettering is going on a Dark Blue truck.
The logo and lettering (two doors) sold for $1000.
This kind of work is the stuff that Glen Weisgerber and Brian Schofield used to do with an airbrush. I do feel a little guilty that it prints out in very little time, whereas it would probably take a dozen hours to execute with paint and airbrush.

Dan nice design. Reads very well considering all the effects involved. Oh and one other thing, don't feel guilty about how fast you turned it around. I know I wouldn't.

This is NOT a CRETIQUE.(sp)...just a QUESTION . Is the "Y" supposed to overlap the bottom of the MAIN Panel ???????? This seems to kill some of the 3D effect you have accomplished........
Every thing else looks great...... (Feel PROUD if you can output this quickly...Time is money )

Looks great Dan. (Good eye Shep) Question, On your Roland, would you use spot colors for most of your vector elements, or convert the whole design to a rastor image?
