Sweet. Very nice rhythm and clear. I prefer the one on the left. The only suggestion I can think of is to make the grey shadow a little lighter if what you've shown is an accurate depiction of the colour you'll use.

One nice thing about the logo on the right. It will look good, and still retain its character, as a single color print, say, on a flyer, or on a jacket. Visualize it without the red, and the grays as screens. The shade and the bold outline together would keep it very legible, even where print quality is poor, such as in a newspaper ad. Of course, the red totally dresses it up. Looking forward to seeing it on an album cover. Sounds like a name for a blues band. Is it?

I like the second one. It seems to work with the number 13 better and there is something about it that relates more to music, maybe that graphic equalizer look inside strokes. The first one, also nice might better serve an Anniversary or something along those lines.

hmmmmmm......A chance to critique Mark Fair's work!
At first glance the one on the right definatly demands more attention, but on closer inspection the one on the left wins out for me. Like good music should be this one has a smooth and clean rythum that flows through the design, leaving me with a feeling of quality rather than trick design.
When I grow up I want to be just like you!

New here, but I thought I'd drop a message and say hello, and to put my two or three cents in on your graphics Mark. Between the two designs, the first grabbed my eye right away.
Nice work.
Now where do I go to find an answer to a question for a first time sign painter (me)? Off I go in search of.

I think you actually got close to a real logo with this one. The one on the right grabbed me first, but closer inspection tells me the one on the left should probably be the first choice. I'll be interested in seeing what the client says. It will probably depend on the band's attitude.

Liked the one on the left best. Bouncier! Would like to see the grey shadow alittle lighter, but I'm thinking it's a net thing that's showing it darker than it actually is intended.
So, are they a good band? Nettie
