Not your everyday walk in the door project. This customer came in and explained that he had a black truck and trailer and told me he didn't want it to look black. He had a couple of ideas but basically left it in my hands. He grass drags snowmobiles in the summer all across Ontario and Michigan. I did a couple of different sketches to see which direction in which to proceed with. Once with the approval from his sponsors and with his resume on his race performance he sent this proposal down to arctic cat and got thier final approval.Being on the arctic cat racing team circuit he can buy his sleds for a dollar (Canadian) still in the crate. This job is all vinyl with vinyl ink airbrushed for the fades. The stripe on the trailer was put on first (removed the screws on the trailer first for faster application), masked, sprayed ( thanks to Ray from Raynbow Signs- Palmerston, Ont. who gave a hand in spraying the stripe for us) and then cut the stripe to shape. All the lettering was cut on the plotter and airbrushed and then cleared with Frog Juice to bring the gloss back.
I know there are different ways this could have been handled. We do have an Edge but it didn't make sense to use it for this. Somtimes it is nice to mix the new with the old ways of doing work. I actually felt that I was creative and enjoyed myself on this project.
Please critique this and share your ideas. I'm still learning things everyday.

Let me be the first to say Rob...Fantastic!!
Please share more details. Is the snowmobiler on the front of the trailer vinyl too? Looks painted. True shadow vinyl for all those cool shadows?
Really great job!
I've worked on a couple similar jobs. One, we applied paint masks and painted and airbrushed the graphics in One Shot. It looked great and held up very well. The other we did entirely in vinyl just using Krylon. It too, surprisingly, held up very well.
Having an Edge, I'd also be tempted to print those logos, but the way you did it looks awesome!
His name is Peter Big Chair(he has the largest moska chair that he made on his front lawn - 22' high)
He leased the truck- the Chrysler dealer paid for the graphics on the truck
The local Arctic cat dealer paid for the graphics on the trailer.
true shadow for the shadows the snowmobiler was a last minute add on. It was scanned off a sweater and printed on the edge(garbage in garbage out)it really wasn't that bad, he was happy with it
How much time???
5 days for the truck by myself 5 days for the trailer by myself there was interuptions throughtout the days
So would I have been better to have done a partial wrap(sub it out)

Wow,Rob that is really great. My Brother-in-law grass and ice drags out of Winnipeg, and he also uses Arctic Cats, athough he isn't a member of the Arctic cat team. He is always trying to do things as cheap as possible and drives me a little crazy sometimes!
I'd love to know what you charged for a job like that. I'd like el-cheapo to know what a great job like you have done would cost.
