Did these two today for use as templates for graphics. (Yes, comments, input, insults, etc are all welcome. LOL)
Yamaha Waveblaster:
Kawasaki Ultra 150:
This is actually the 2nd version of the Ultra cause the first one has some gradient meshes which arent compatible with CorelDRAW (I'm doing these in Illustrator).

Nice work, Mike. You left out the bullet holes from the enraged waterskiiers and wakeboarders, though. LOL! BTW what the heck is a gradient mesh?

Eric, LOL around here, jetskis are the ones pulling all the skiers and wakeboarders, and boats are frowned upon. We even have boat ramps that are restricted to jetski use only so the jetskiers don't have to sit and wait forever while boaters get their crap together! This town is of course, the jetski capital of the world so it caters to them.
A gradient mesh is a pretty handy tool. It's like the gradient tool in a sign program, allowing a color fade, but the shape is made up of a mesh or grid of nodes. Each node can have a different color applied to it and the colors can be "weighted" towards a certain node to put a stronger emphasis on the color.
Basically, imagine being able to stretch your color gradients into any shape you want.
The image below shows what it looks like.. the top version shows the mesh, or grid, with all the nodes in it. The bottom shows the end result. You can compare the two and kinda see what I'm talking about. That whole thing is done with just 3 or 4 seperate shapes.

Very nice Mike! I just finished that chapter in Adobe's Class Room in a Book for Illustrator 10, this couldn't come at a better time so I could actualy see the practicle application. I think I'll review it one more time and see if I can do something like your jetski. Robin

Robin, check out your Illustrator CD cause there's some sample artwork on it that most likely has a ton of gradient mesh use in it. You wouldn't believe the realism you can achieve using it, unfortunately I'm not at that point yet but I'll get there eventually.

Mike, We started out wakeboarding behind a Polaris 750, but switched to a boat, for a bigger wake( the kids wanted bigger air, not me!). Thanks for the illustrated answer on the gradient mesh.
